The other day, I went to the grocery store to pick up a few things. While walking through the parking lot, I noticed a man stand on his shopping cart, and give a few pushes before jumping on. He smiled and laughed the entire way, loving life. He was about 50 and wearing a business suit. GMH.

Today I saw a video on the news about protesters being beat to death by police. When one man was thrown to the ground, about to be beaten, a woman stepped in front of him (risking being beaten herself) and told the police to stop. She was pregnant. People like her GMH.

Today, my aunt dragged me along to the mall to go shopping. While in the store, she criticized me, calling me fat and comparing me to ‘Ugly Betty’. When I walked out of the store, a boy held the door open and whispered ‘I don’t know what she’s talking about’. GMH.

Today, I found GMH. After reading all the heartwarming stories, I walked into my room, and tore my suicide journal to shreds. I’m shaking out of happiness. GMH.

Freshman year, there was a crippled girl bound to a wheelchair. For 4 years, she did physical therapy and progressed to crutches. When we graduated a few weeks ago, she handed her crutches to an officer and walked across the entire stage. The applause from the seniors was deafening. She cried the whole way. GMH.

My family & I got separated in New York City when I was little. Scared, I sat crying on the sidewalk as tons of people passed by. A homeless man picked me up, comforted me, & carried me to a police officer, who found my parents. He had a long beard & I asked if he was Jesus. He laughed so hard he cried. He GMH.
