1950s

ANDREW J. MCKENNA (BS, COMMERCE ’51) is the chairman of Schwarz Supply Source, a global provider of distribution and logistics programs. McKenna is also the chairman emeritus of McDonald’s Corporation and served as a director of McDonald’s for 25 years and executive chairman for 12 years.

1970s

DANIEL FORD (FIN ’71), retired after three decades as a judge. Ford presided over superior court cases in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. With very few exceptions, Ford says, there hasn’t been a day he didn’t enjoy the work of being a judge, but he is looking forward to whatever happens next.

LAWRENCE OVERLAN (MBA ’76, BA ’71) is nearing success after a 20-year effort to save the cherished home of Boston’s most famous politician, Mayor James Michael Curley (1914-18; 22-26; 30-34 and 45-49). A well-known Boston nonprofit has agreed to occupy the 21-room neo-Georgian classic, built in 1915. Many Curley artifacts will be displayed and open to the public, preserving the “House with the Shamrock Shutters.” Overlan is shopping his movie script of Curley to Hollywood. Stay tuned!

WILLIAM CASAZZA (MBA ’79) retired from professional life four years ago to travel, hike and fly fish around the world. He was most recently the executive vice president and general counsel of Aetna, a position he held for 10 years. Casazza splits his time between a home in Avon, Connecticut, and a ranch in the Paradise Valley of Livingston, Montana.

1980s

THOMAS J. ABOOD (FIN ’85) is CEO of EVO Transportation & Energy Services Inc., a national logistics service provider.

TOD NESTOR (ACCT ’85) is president and chief financial officer of Energy Focus Inc., which specializes in LED retrofit technologies.

ROBERT CRAIG (ACCT ’86) is a senior client partner for Korn Ferry, a global organizational accounting firm, and is based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

DUANE LAWRENCE (FIN ’86) is non-executive chairman for UK-based Rinicare Limited, a leading intelligent health care company. Lawrence supports the company’s growth and commercialization of its AI portfolio.

NANCY BALL MARTIN (MBA ’87, BA ’84) authored “Servant of God, Gwen Coniker: God Leads, Faith and Trust Follow” about Gwen and Jerry Coniker, founders of the Apostolate for Family Consecration. Martin also remarried in July and is now Nancy Martin Looby.

CAROL BEEHLER (EMBA ’88) joined Deloitte Consulting Practice as a specialist master and works on health care operations projects to improve outcomes and address the digital age applications on the horizon.

JANET O’TOUSA (MBA ’88), accountancy associate teaching professor at Mendoza College of Business, was awarded the 2019 Joyce Award, which honors faculty members who have had a profound influence on undergraduate students through sustained exemplary teaching. O’Tousa became a full-time member of the accountancy teaching faculty in 2001 and serves as the faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi and as a faculty mentor for the Vivian Harrington Gray Notre Dame–Saint Mary’s Taxpayer Assistance Program (TAP).

TRENT GROCOCK (FIN ’89) is vice president of finance for the University of Notre Dame. Previously Grocock was associate vice president for financial planning and analysis for the University.

HARTMUT LIEBEL (MBA ’89) is president and chief operating officer of Sanmina Corporation, a leading integrated manufacturing solutions company.

1990s

ROBERT KLOSKA (ACCT ’90) is chief partnership officer for Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, a newly created position that serves the growing credit union membership of Catholic communities nationwide.

PATRICK MCCLANAHAN (ACCT ’90) is chief operations officer for the Federal Reserve Board.

WILLIAM HARRINGTON (MBA ’92) is the global head of internal audit for R.J. O’Brien & Associates, the oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm in the U.S.

KEVIN RULE (ACCT ’93) is chief financial officer for Hickory Farms.

BRIAN C. WHITE (MBA ’93) is chief financial officer of Maxim Integrated Products.

ALEXANDER F. MARCHETTI (ACCT ’95) is senior director of investor relations, responsible for Brunswick Corporation’s global investor relations efforts.

TIMOTHY YOUNG (FIN ’95) is the commanding officer of the U.S. Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands, Hawaii.

PATRICK MACIARIELLO (FIN ’97) is chief operating officer for Compass Group Management LLC, an owner of leading middlemarket businesses.

BEN CAST (ACCT ’97) is chief commercial officer of Everglades Boats in Edgewater, Florida.

2000s

BRENT CHISM (MBA ’00) guest lectured in Mike McDaniel’s (MBA ’00) marketing class at Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, where he talked about advertising and promotion in the beverage sector. Chism is the vice president of marketing for Dunns River Brand.

PAUL HARDEN (EMBA ’00) is chief nuclear officer of Nawah Energy Company, the joint venture nuclear operating subsidiary formed by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation and the Korea Electric Power Corporation.

LARRY IWANSKI (MSA ’00) is director, chair of the audit committee for Hawkeye Systems Inc., a next-generation imaging technology innovator which announced the listing of its common shares on the OTC Markets in June. Hawkeye’s board is dominated by U.S. military veterans, including Iwanski, who began his career as an army aviator where he was a UH-1 (Huey) and UH-60 (Blackhawk) helicopter pilot and test pilot.

MATTHEW DEWEY (MGMT ’01) is chief marketing and communication officer for Texas Tech University.

JOSHUA HOWELL (FIN ’02) is president and executive team leaders for Lean Enterprise Institute, a global leader in lean thinking and practice.

GREGORY B. STEWART (EMBA ’03) is chief marketing officer and executive vice president of ENTELLIGENCEone, an international biotechnology scientific instrument company focused on the growing demand for state of the art technology dedicated to protecting the global population.

LEE DE LEÓN (MARK ’04) is executive director, deputy director of athletics of the Ragin’ Cajuns Athletic Foundation, the fundraising arm for the University of Louisiana’s athletics department.

WHEELER COLEMAN (EMBA ’04) is CEO and executive partner at EC-United, a boutique IT consulting firm specializing in delivering innovative solutions that transform businesses.

TRALYNNA SCOTT (ACCT ’06) is treasurer for Cherokee Nation Businesses. Scott is one of six leaders on the executive cabinet who will help propel the tribe forward over the next four years.

NATHAN CHAPPELL (MNA ’08) is president of Gobel Technology, a newly formed division of Gobel Group. Chappell is tasked with implementing Gobel’s proprietary patient screening algorithm, Gratitude to Give (G2G).

BRIAN L. SALVI (FIN ’09, JD ’13) was named one of Law Bulletin Media’s 40 Lawyers Under Forty to watch in Illinois for 2019.

JAMES JOSEPH SLOVER III (MSA ’09) married Amy Lynn Workman on June 8, 2019, at the historic St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Philadelphia. Slover is the director of financial planning, reporting and analysis for CRC Industries Inc.

2010s

RYAN J. PEENE (MNA ’10), senior vice president corporate development and government banking of SB One Bank, is one of NJBIZ’s 2019 Forty under 40.

STEPHEN PONZILLO (MNA ’10, BA ’98) is assistant vice president and community relations officer for Florida for Regions Financial Corporation. In this role, Ponzillo works with the bank’s market executives throughout the state to shape and execute Regions’ community investment strategies.

J. P. SEMINARIO (MSA ’10) is national originations manager for PNC Business Credit’s Technology Finance Group.

KATIE PARK (FIN ’11) was the commencement speaker at her alma mater, Perkiomen School. Park is a vice president at Goldman Sachs and serves as a service committee chair of Notre Dame Club of New York.

NKECHI MBANEFO-AZIE (EMBA CHICAGO ’12)
is vice president of clinical development for SCYNEXIS, Inc., a biotechnology company delivering innovative therapies for difficult-to-treat and often life-threatening infections. Dr. Azie leads clinical development activities and strengthens medical affairs efforts in anticipation of the potential approval and commercial launch of a new medication.

BLAKE VAUGHN (EMBA ’12) is chief operating officer for Lasership, an e-commerce parcel carrier servicing the eastern and Midwest U.S.

RYAN PAUL SHANAHAN (MSA, ACCT ’12) married Jane Anne Murphy on May 4, 2019. Shanahan is an associate at Court Square Capital Partners.

SCOTT CANNA (FIN ’14) is vice president for Portage Point Partners LLC, a business advisory and interim management firm that partners with stakeholders during periods of transitions, underperformance and distress. He supports client engagements.

PAUL TOBONI (MBA ’14) is the amateur scouting director for the Red Sox.

JACQUELINE RONAYNE (ACCT ’15) is a senior associate for The Siegfried Group LLP’s Philadelphia Metro Market.

COLLEEN VERMEULEN (MNA ’15, MDIV ’13) is interim director and director of mission of the Catholic Biblical School of Michigan. In the newly created role, Vermeulen oversees outreach and strategic development of this lay apostolate to grow disciples in both local and online communities through seminary-level Bible study.

JAMES GEORGALAS (MBA ’16) is acquisitions officer for Illinois-based Industrial Outdoor Ventures, a real estate investment company.

ADAM W. GREENWAY (MNA ’16) was the Founders Day keynote speaker for North Greenville University’s heritage event celebrating the 127th anniversary of the university’s founding. Greenway is president and professor of evangelism and apologetics at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

KAYTE MALIK (EMBA ’16) was awarded the 2018 Remodista Women 2 Watch in Business Disruption World Wide Innovation Award. Malik was chosen out of 80 women nominated for the award globally for her work on Dresscode Tech, a fashion technology company she founded while at Mendoza that merges fashion and tech to educate and excite women and girls about coding and STEM through tech-enabled accessories. Dresscode Tech launched The Gift of Innovation, a one for on program that gifts coding lessons to both Dress For Success Worldwide and Big Brothers Big Sisters Chicago.

ASHVIN REDDY (MSF ’17) is the vice president, global strategy and corporate development for Jet Support Services Inc., an independent provider of maintenance support and financial services to the aviation industry.

STEPHEN DREW (MSF ’19) is vice president of Contact Center Solutions and leads strategic direction for Carousel Industries, a leader in evolving the way organizations communicate and orchestrate the flow of information through their networks. Drew is also a doctoral candidate at Benedictine University’s Center for Values Driven Leadership.
