“THE HONOR CODE: IT STARTS WITH ME!”
Brian Levey (FIN ’84)
Accountancy teaching professor specializing in ethics
One goal of the Campus Crossroads project is to integrate athletic, academic and student life. This video message uses football and the video board to do just that: remind students of their Honor Code obligations. The video would show students from all walks of campus life — different majors, sports, dorms, clubs, etc. — reciting the phrase. There is a sense that responsibility for the Honor Code resides with faculty. But it starts with students. We need creative ways to emphasize this.

This quote holds inspirational truth to Notre Dame students. Everyone has skills and talents. At Notre Dame, we have the opportunity to be pushed to our limits, expanding those skills and talents. But what do we do once we graduate? We need to use those talents to help others and improve the world. This will be our gift to God.
“20-YEAR PLANS ARE GREAT. BUT THE BEST PLAN IS THE ABILITY TO ADAPT.”
Benet Bartell (MBA ’15, MSACCT ’12)
Associate director for Graduate Business Programs
During MSA orientation in 2011, I thought my life path was crystal clear, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Looking back, it all makes sense. I learned that planning for the future and aiming for goals is important, but it’s equally important to recognize that you can’t control the future.
“TRULY I SAY TO YOU, TO THE EXTENT THAT YOU DID IT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE MY BROTHERS, YOU DID IT TO ME.”
Matthew 25:40

In today’s United States, people justify their actions cloaked in religion and their selective use of the Bible. But it is imperative to read the entire book!
